John Tocci, CEO, Tocci Building Corporation, presented the recent work of the AGC’s BIMForum, formerly the AGC PIAC BIM Working Group, to the Private Industry Advisory Council (PIAC) on January 20, 2006 at the AGC Building Division Meeting, in Captiva Island, FL.

Since his last presentation to PIAC, the BIMForum has expanded its membership to support 6 subforums:

The BIMForum has also implemented an online discussion forum and website to further their work.

At the AGC Building Division Meeting, the BIMForum began discussions on BIM transfer standards, academic curriculum and software training sessions.

John Tocci, chairman of the Association of General Contractors (AGC) BIMForum, revealed a new home page portal to the BIMForum website at the AGC Building Division Bi-Annual meeting on January 18, 2007. The popular virtual design and construction (VDC) discussion board is now accessible through a user-friendly front end featuring industry and BIM-related news feeds from the AGC and other media sources. The new portal was jointly envisioned and implemented by AGC BIMForum committee members and includes significant content and design input from Laura Handler, BIM Modeler, and Mary Bonaparte-Krogh, Graphic Designer, both members of the Tocci team.
