On December 6, 2007, Joe Ferolito, VP of Preconstruction Planning, Tocci, along with David Odeh, VP, Odeh Engineers, and John Hamann, Project Manager, Cives Steel Company, spoke to members of the Steel Fabricators of New England about the benefits of utilizing Building Information Modeling. Tocci’s contribution illustrated current use of BIM to develop 3D models of steel components that fabricators are utilizing to more accurately cost and produce custom work. Also discussed were our BIM-produced RFI, change request and three-week look-ahead schedules that provide fabricators and installers with fly-through visuals that foster intelligent design decisions and dramatically reduce miscommunication.
