by MaryBK on Oct.26, 2009, under TocciNews
Tocci is proud to announce that our award-winning Autodesk AEC Headquarters recently delivered under an historic Integrated Delivery Project (IPD) contract has been certified LEED® Platinum by the United States Green Building Council! LEED points earned included green design and construction initiatives. Building systems designed by architect KlingStubbins include automated building systems, automated lighting controls, daylighting controls, sound control systems, use of FSC Certified Wood and use of Low Voc adhesives, sealants, paints, coatings and carpet. During construction Tocci instituted a stringent air quality management program that included zoning select work areas for dust/particle-creating work. Prior to occupancy the building underwent and passed air quality testing to assure uncompromised air. In addition, a full cleaning and recycling program was implemented that enabled recycling of over 88% of the project’s construction waste. Achieving LEED® Platinum was one of the key success criteria set forth in the IPD contract shared by Autodesk, KlingStubbins and Tocci.
Tocci Adds Architectural Expertise to VDC Team
by MaryBK on Oct.16, 2009, under TocciNews, VDC News
Tocci Building Corporation recently added Pierce Reynoldson, a graduate of the Yale School of Architecture master program, to its Virtual Design and Construction department. He has worked with a number of architecture firms in the United States, including NBBJ and Pelli Clarke Pelli, as well as a free-lance architect in Istanbul. Pierce also majored in architecture and minored in art history at Ohio State University.
Pierce’s architectural background provides Tocci with a deeper understanding of the designer’s perspective in construction. His graduate background in architectural history and theory brings a richer appreciation for design. Moreover, Pierce’s familiarity with the professional culture of architects makes him an excellent IPD team member in early phases of conceptual design.

Tocci Building Corporation’s work on the Autodesk AEC Headquarters Building, completed in Waltham, MA, earlier this year, is being recognized for exceptional team effort through a 2009 Associated General Contractors (AGC) Build New England Honor Award. The 55k sf, high design/high tech corporate TI project was completed under an Integrated Project Delivery contract which bound the principal participants—Autodesk, Inc.(owner); KlingStubbins (architect); and Tocci Building Corporation (constructor)—under a single shared risk contract for design and construction of the project. On hand to accept the prestigious AGC recognition at their October 1stawards event were key team project executives Charles Rechtsteiner, Autodesk Regional Facilities Manager; Chris Leary, KlingStubbins Principal/Project Executive; and Jack Short Tocci Director of Project Planning.
The team made extensive use of Autodesk’s suite of Building Information Modeling technology to develop the project. The AGC Honor award caps a year of recognition for the project’s groundbreaking use of new technology and new delivery methods. Among previous awards received are the AIA Technology in Architectural Practice Building Information Model Award; AGC Leadership in Technology Award; Constructech Vision Award; and the BusinessWeek/Architectural Record Good Design is Good Business Award.
